I have always been a big fan of progressive rock. They just have a way of making ordinary rock fresh and exciting. Yes, the band Genesis used to be really progressive in their time before Phil Collins took over and geared the band more towards the radio friendly pop sounds. imageI use my blog to talk about music and other things that are a big part of my life. I have had a certain person in my life throwing mud all around me. The mudslinging doesn’t stop. Whether I do good or make a mistake here and there. Nothing is good enough for this person. I honestly don’t know what lies this person has spread about me but in the end…….well in the end I know that my life stands on its own two feet. I work extremely hard for the benefit of others. The worse thing about all this is that this person has made me have such a low self-esteem. I have begun to question whether I am doing all that I can. I started to think that maybe I am not worth having around. That is what happens when somebody hurts you so much that you just want to whiter away. I guess I just need somebody to hold me, kiss me on the lips, and say…..this world is a better place with you around…..I would not want to be here without seeing your smile…let’s move on past this garbage that is troubling you, together hand on hand. Maybe it is just wishful thinking. I heard this song today on the season finale (of all places) Hawaii 5-O. It is from the debut cd of Ben Howard. The song is called Promise. I love this song. I think I will put on my website. Laterz.

I would say that most of my readers are of working age. So I pose this question: Ever have somebody above you that just wants to constantly get into a pissing contest? What does this actually accomplish? I am convinced that these type of people have great insecurity problems. In order to feel some sort of worth they have to have the last word. They insist on making you crawl on the ground like a snake. They insist on having you bark like an animal so the whole world can see your humility. It is so sad that some people have to live their entire lives like this. Oh yes, make no mistake about this concept……they are that way 24/7. Work life and personal life. It is all the same. Sad sad. What is more sad is that  99.9% of the time don’t think they are doing anything wrong. It is people like that, that make me physically sick. No really. Why in the world would anybody want to work with anybody like that? Here is Don Henley to talk about all that Dirty Laundry that people love to hear. Wow! Who else but ZZTop can hit the stage at their age in front of 20,000+ people and still deliver. Man, if you dont feel some good ole rockin blues you better check your pulse because your heart may have stopped beating. I can think of no other song to put on my blog tonight but other than Jesus Just Left Chicago. imageSince I ditched my satellite bills like 2 years ago (yeah, it kept going up and up like cable), i have found that “free” tv is the way to go because they show the new shows. One of my favorite shows right now is Elementary featuring Lucy Lui and Jonny Lee Miller. Nice. It was one of those shows that had alot of hype but turned out to be great and not a dude. The season finale was tonight and they had a cool song which I will put on my blog a later date. Today’s song came out the second episode from the band Barbarossa. Actually his real name is James Mathe from England.This is such a chill song called Bloodline. Hope you enjoy. Laterz. 

hole in the earth by Deftones

imageAh yes, the Deftones never disappoint me. Their music is fresh yet raw; lively at times and quite mellow is need be. This song has to be one of their best ones they have recorded to date. I can only imagine what they will continue to churn out from now on. Turn it up, hit the stage and jam. What more could you ask for from a great rock band? At times I think there is a Hole in the earth but thankfully I never sink deep down. There is always an extending hand ready to lift me up and out of the abyss. Let’s take a listen to the Saturday Night Wrist track. But lets also remember the late Chi Cheng. May you rest in peace my friend. Its been about one month now that we have said goodbye to you but you will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Laterz. 

highway song by Blackfoot

You just can’t resist rolling down those windows and blasting some good ole southern rock next to some idiots bumping and thumping nonsensical rap music. Right? Well, maybe its just me. Ha, anyway most people have not heard of this southern rock band called Blackfoot. The band at this point is still going strong but the lead singer, Rickey Medlocke, is now rocking on with the equally great Lynyrd Skynyrd. Yet, he is still involved with the continued evolution of the band by writing and helping get the new Blackfoot going. Check out their new stuff on their website.Yep, makes me want to take a long road trip….destination: absolutely nowhere. Hope the travel bug goes away because I am itching to hop in the car.
